OUR HISTORY

Magenta Sky Australian Cobberdogs is about family and togetherness. We are not a kennel. This means is our dog lives with us, travels with us, and is involved wherever pets are permitted. I am a grandmother of 11 wonderful young and little people, and I wanted a dog that would love them, play with them, be excited to see them, and have the temperament to love all people!

I researched for about 10 years for the breed that I felt had the qualities I desired in a family pet. I had not heard of the Australian Cobberdog prior to my research, and the more I read, researched and talked with breeders, the more I knew this was my breed!

GUIDING MISSION

This is a fairly young breed, having only obtained a registry in 2011 with Masters Dog Breeders Association. During my research, I discovered there were very few ACD breeders in Canada. I had met this wonderful breed and knew it was a breed Canada needed more of, and so in connecting with another ACD breeder here in Alberta, we felt I could contribute to Cobberdogs in Canada by finding a blood line that Canada didn't yet have, in order to expand the existing gene pool. This took me on a worldwide search, literally, where I found a wonderful female, with an amazing pedigree, and unrelated to any lines already here in Canada. It is the goal of Magenta Sky to help broaden the Australian Cobberdog gene pool here in Canada, and to introduce this wonderful new breed to those who may need a service or therapy temperament companion, or a lovely, engaging family pet!

At Magenta Sky Australian Cobberdogs, we continue to care about our animals long after they leave us. As such, it’s our strict policy to only sell to individuals; we will never sell to pet shops or brokers.
